His final work is due to be unveiled next month

Acclaimed Manx artist and sculptor Bryan Kneale has died at the age of 95.

He was a founding member of the Isle of Man Arts Council, which has paid tribute to him, describing him as one of the Island's most prolific and celebrated artists.

After international success, he was the first abstract sculptor elected as a Royal Academician, and in 2019 he received an MBE in recognition of his outstanding services to art.

His final work, Eelips, is due to be unveiled in the Tynwald National Park and Arboretum next month.

The arts council says the sculpture will stand as a lasting tribute to his creativity, innovation and enduring contribution to Manx culture.
