Library assistant suffered head injuries
An inquest has heard a 66-year woman died from head injuries in a road accident in Onchan last week.
Joan Corran from Falklands Drive in the village, was hit by a van on Royal Drive at just after 10am on Tuesday 18 October.
Mrs Corran, a library assistant, died at the scene.
Her inquest at Douglas courthouse was opened and adjourned this morning by Coroner John Needham.
Police say a van driver is assisting with ongoing inquiries.
Roads in the Royal Avenue area were closed for several hours after the accident.
Mr Needham passed on his sincere condolences to Mrs Corran's family.
