Manx Shearwater numbers 'bounce back' after work to tackle rodent problem

Bird had been all but eradicated on the Calf of Man

Numbers of Manx Shearwater on the Calf of Man have bounced back following work to tackle a rodent problem, but they'll still need to be closely monitored.

That's from the Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT), which says the species had been all but eradicated as the way they nest makes their eggs easy targets for rodents.

It's now estimated there are around 1,000 pairs on the Calf.
