Pharmacy worker discovered deception

A woman who forged a prescription must carry out 150 hours of community service.

Twenty year-old Zara Louise Jones of Empire Terrace, Douglas was given a prescription for sleeping tablets in September.

But after her doctor forgot to put how many tablets she should be given, she filled in the form herself.

A worker at Lloyds Pharmacy in Strand Street became suspicious and rang the surgery, discovering the deception.

Jones admitted the offence, which her advocate said was at the lower end of scale. She was uncomfortable with what she had done, had cooperated with police and asked for one final chance.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle warned if she failed just once to carry out her order, she would be back before the court.
