Roads around the Mountain Course are due to close at 6pm ahead of Senior and Supersport qualifying, followed by the Junior MGP and Sportbike qualifying.
But forecaster at Ronaldsway Met Office, Adrian Cowin says rain, drizzle and hill fog may hamper conditions.
He adds the situation is set to improve later in the week:
