
Defending champions Southern Nomads drew 10-10 with Vagabonds B as the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield got underway.
Nomads took the lead with a try from Gerard Landels, converted by Duncan Miller, before Vagas hit back with a try from former Nomad James Hammal and a conversion which levelled the scores.
One penalty apiece tied the game and neither side were able to break the deadlock.
Douglas B beat Ramsey B 41-19 at Port-e-Chee.
Tries for Douglas came from Carl Conroy (two), Steve Tansell, Callum Carine, Aaron Mason, Paul Leivers and Liam Mulligan.
Gareth Hooson-Owen added three conversions.
Ramsey’s points came courtesy of tries from Luke Robertson, Jim Lantry and Chris King with Mikey Craine adding two conversions.
The final game of the day was a tight affair at Poulsom Park where Emerging Nomads ran out 15-13 winners in their clash with Castletown.
Town hooker Darren Davies weighed in with a try for his side, with Chris Nash adding a penalty and a conversion. Gary Stephenson also added a penalty.
