Joanne McCabe also described as a 'driving force' behind women's team
Vagabonds Rugby Club has confirmed the appointment of Joanne McCabe as it's new Club President.
A member of the club's women's squad since its earlier years, McCabe is being described as a 'driving force' for the progress of the team before retiring from playing at the end of last season.
She takes up the position alongside being Chairwoman of Wooden Spoon Isle of Man, a children's rugby charity which uses the sport to improve the lives of youngsters.
Having taken up the new post, Joanne says she's 'honoured' to be taking up this role, adding she's 'excited to continue giving back to a community that means so much to me.'
Meanwhile, Chairman of Vagabonds Rugby Club, John Cannan adds: "We love having Jo onboard. She brings years of experience – especially from her huge contribution to the women’s team over the years, and she continues to be a true ambassador for everything this club represents."
